2021 Poggio Le Volpi Roma 2021 Poggio Le Volpi Roma 750 ml bottle A blend of Montepulciano, Syrah, and Cesanese grapes from vineyards that are located in the Castelli Romani area, southeast of Rome. Hand harvest, long fermentation of the grapes, soft pressing, and maturation in small and large oak barrels. Deep bright ruby red colour. It has an intense nose with sensations of ripe red fruit, cherries in alcohol, and red flowers, enclosed in a very pleasant balsamic note. Very smooth palate, pleasantly tannic, well-balanced, elegant, and very long persistence. A match made in heaven when paired with pasta with ragout, risotto with sausage, beef, lamb, and pork, cured meats, and medium-aged cheeses.   Awards: 98 points Luca Maroni Silver Medal Mundus Vini [split] Poggio le Volpi was founded by Felice Mergé in 1996. The estate is located between the town of Monte Porzio Catone and the Roman countryside about 20 kilometres southeast of Rome, in the Alban Hills. Monte Porzio Catone was formed by an extinct volcano and has given rise to the surrounding region of the Castelli Romani. 100 hectares of land cover the surface of volcanic soil with an optimum natural microclimate, which is ideal for grape growing. Traditional white grapes such as Malvasia di Candia, Malvasia del Lazio, and Trebbiano together with native red grapes such as Cesanese and Nero Buono are grown here. The main wine produced is “Frascati”, which has been DOCG for some years. The Mergé family has many years of winemaking experience. Their philosophy is to produce a particularly attentive style of wine, have the utmost respect for the land, and exalt the richness of the territory. https://www.viinakaupat.com/imagestorage/420318.webp 2021 Poggio Le Volpi Roma 42.90 PVROM21 PVROM21 Poggio Le Volpi 42.90 42.90 0 EUR https://www.viinakaupat.com/imagestorage/420318.webp 750 ml bottle A blend of Montepulciano, Syrah, and Cesanese grapes from vineyards that are located in the Castelli Romani area, southeast of Rome.
